I understand what you are saying, but wood is no a good at heat transfer, and metal is good at heat transfer. Otherwise fins of radiators would be made of wood, not thin strips of metal. I just don't see how wood would help it, but there are lots of things that go on in this world that I don't have a clue how they work.
