Nothing wrong with building a clone, but that's a different story. Like anything else, if you have the money and that's what you want and it's the only place to get it, then get it. If you don't care or can't, don't. But what I will say is I've seen individual bits and pieces of this engine go for A LOT over the years. And they don't come up for sale very often. You can spend a lot of time and money waiting for the bits and pieces to come around. Authentic MW block - $1,000 Intake manifold - $1,500 Exhaust manifolds - $1,200 Heads $1,500 Carbs and linkage - $800 Air cleaners - $700 Oil pan - $300 If you're building an authentic original MW, it will be worth $60,000 or more and the engine is the main ingredient. That being said, I can't afford to buy it. But if someone can, I can understand why they would. BTW, I was more posting it as a point of interest than expecting someone to want it. It does seem like a lot. But $10,000 wouldn't seem that much to me if I were building an authentic car. - Jim Jim Altemose, Long Island, NY '63 Polara 500 (Max Wedge) '63 Polara 500 (383) '65 Belvedere I (Street Wedge) '71 Bronco On Thu, Aug 2, 2012 at 3:21 PM, Cory Rempel <cory_383@xxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: > > There's no way ANY stock engine is worth that much.
