Re: OT 354 poly

That engine i believe uses a small block pattern transmission. As does the all the poly engines and early hemis. At least the 354 and 392 did

OT 354 poly

I know this isn't the forward look group, but I thought someone on here probably knows these engines and transmissions. A friend called me today and said he bought a 59 Chrysler Saratoga with a 354 poly. He wanted to know if this engine used a big block transmission bellhousing pattern. I told him the 318 poly's used a small block pattern but wasn't sure about the 354 poly. Doesn't the 354 Hemi take a different bellhousing and I've read you could convert the 354 poly to a 354 Hemi. Do the early poly's have a longer crankshaft, like a 61 big block would have ? I tried to find some info in my Chrysler books, but had no luck.
