Thank you Herb. I prefer using the “kit” items for the guarantee and
ongoing service after the sale; there is no risk of getting the wrong components
as they are tried/tested.

Ditto on AAJ!! I was going to recommend them but he stated he
wanted to use factory stuff. Scarebird has a redesigned kit for 57
> 61 that looks a lot better than their old set.

Russell,
Your best system will be from Roger Thomason (503) 890-1469
at AAJ Brakes in Oregon
or from ECI 860-872-7046.
No one gives better follow up and real time service than Roger at
AAJ.

Got the correct caliper installed on 1941 Ply Street Rod
(front clip is 65 Valiant) and my brakes are working great now. Thanks to
all who chimed in on the issue.
All I can think off, as all the parts were purchased at
the same time, is the left front caliper was not the correct one and boxed
improperly. I actually ended up with a 78 Volare right front caliper
and a 80 Volare left front caliper. The left front was not bleeding the
air off properly.
No one to blame but myself, I just didn’t see it. The
joys of our cars.....
moral of the story, 78 Volare front disc brakes will fit
on a 65 Valiant, if you have all the correct parts
