Re: interesting....bad cars on eBay

An accurate deduction and analysis of ebays's marketing of their guarantee.
It is not realistic protection.
The bottom line is, ebay doesn't have to, or is not required to mediate when an ad is false, or a seller backs out of a sale that wasn't to his liking.
All the seller has to do is , either do nothing to complete the sale, or refund the money to the buyer that thought he won the sale.
Neither is a satisfying scenario to an auction gone south where the buyer is concerned.
Ebay is always crowing about their buyer protection, that is not there when it all turns sour.

I bought a car that was supposed to have a new engine and transmission about a year ago on eBay because I thought their ‘buyer protection plan’ would protect me. I am still trying to collect. EBay has not been any help and has no interest in kicking bad sellers off…only on making more money. Good luck.

When I e-mailed the guy and got the ,,!, response I also notified E-bay about his less than honest advertising practices.... for all the good that will do.  Unfortunately some poor sap is going to buy this line and pay top dollar for a complete fake.  Yes, buyer beware, but stuff like that is NOT good for our hobby.
