RE: help it wont start!

I think you might be exaggerating the problem potential, myself alone I have six different cars with them installed for a number of years with "0" problems.  In addition I bet I have installed 10 + units on friends cars with only one having a problem when he removed the green tape from around the rotor and did not realize most of the magnets had fallen out.  I would have a propensity to say that was a user induced error as opposed to a Pertronix issue.  Just my $0.02 worth.  Me thinks you did your friend a disservice!

The pertronix kit might not be the best way to go.  I've seen on this mail list alone so many guys having problems with their products.  My buddy was going to buy a Pertronix kit and I told him about some of the horror stories I've read about here.  He then changed is mind.  That's my opinion though.

Wondering if anybody has any ideas,i know its hard to troubleshoot over e-mail but i don't knoew what to do. my 62 dart 440 361 slowly through the last couple of months doesnt like to start, last month i put a new coil on it and timed it with a lite. it's a 4 barrel car stock, cranks good but wont start. this last week i thought it was the points so bought new pretronix, new cap, no difference, seems to be getting fuel even dumped fuel down carb no change, pulled valve cover, valves go up and down fine, seems to have good spark at the end of plug wire, changed out the ballast, hot wired it,doesnt spit like timing, compression seems strong enough, not cranking to easy,i am at a loss, any help would be great Russell

You can reduce the fittings.
Another location I always liked was where the exhaust pipe hanger mounts in the "hump" area.

I'm working on installing an electric fuel pump back by the tank.  The pump I have has 3/8" inlet and outlet fittings, but my fuel lines are 5/16".  Is it ok to adapt down to the 5/16" line from the pump?  Will that affect the pressure?  The pump should put out 6 lb of pressure.

I'm also trying to find the best location to mount it.  I think I'll end up putting it inside the far rear passenger side frame rail just before the rear bumper (on the opposite side of the bumper bracket struts).  It'll be at the back corner of the tank.  It'll be visable from behind, but I don't really mind that.  I don't see another place I like better that keeps it low and stays away from the rear suspension.

Opinions please.

Thanks
