Re: 1964 Dodge 330 Station Wagon

Glad to see you back. It sounds like a nice SW. I love wagons and a 383, 4 spd would be a blast.  Have fun.

Hey I am back. Sorry I have not been part of the group lately, been a lot going on. The big item is that in the time since the holidays my son graduated from college and moved to California where he managed to find a job. Then last month he married his sweetheart in a big ceremony in California, so I have been spending some time driving up and down the coast.

Unfortunately, he was not able to take his 1964 Dodge 330 station wagon with him. This is a car I started years ago than gave to him while he was in High school. While he had it, he made many improvements and even managed to get it featured in the '62to'65 Mopar on-line calender a few years ago while it was still painted white. After that it was taken to my dad's shop in California where it was sand blasted and finished in primer.

But while he was attending the University he had no time for it, so it was wrapped in tarps and parked up here on my property for the last few years.

After I reimbursed him for the parts he has invested in the car, I transferred the title back to so it is my car and project again.

The car is a stripped down primered hot rod with a decent rebuilt 383 magnum engine and four speed trans (it was originally a 318 poly 3-speed manual car, I entertained the thought of returning the car to that configuration but please tell me I am crazy). Super stock springs were installed as well as a competition clutch. I heavy duty drive line was custom built after he blew out three drive shafts when the competition clutch was installed.

My plans right now are to simply clean the car up and bring it back to life. I will be making simple improvements to it and hopefully get to take it out to a few events. Anything like a full on restoration is long way on the horizon, it is not like I am lacking for projects to do. I plan on keeping the car a stripped down competition car with out worrying about keeping anything other than the body original.
