Hi Bill,
As Jimmy says the 489 casting uses a collapsible spacer but I have found the addition of another spacer between the front bearing and spacer will save complete dissasembly by allowing a little more crush to achieve needed preload. I usually look for .010-.015" shims to use. Just some info.
