Indeed it would be nice if you could just pull out the tapered and swap in the '65 up versions. Mopar parts life is rarely so easy. LOL Plus it is a reminder that even the most Mopar-focused national vendors stub their toes when they veer into '62-'65 territory. For the price of those two new axles, or much less, a '65 - up drum to drum can be found. And he can most probably find a complete drum to drum tapered unit, including a peg leg 8.75, for less than the price of one of those new axles. I know I have a complete drum to drum tapered unit that fits that description.
