Re: Disc brake conversion

Aw, man, that sucks! You could have also used the swaybar setup from it, too. Most of the early C-bods didn't have one.

The pre-72 C-body rotors were a 2-piece design. The '73 were a 1-piece. Now you can get a 1 piece replacement for the earlier ones. But they ain't cheap, Rockauto lists them for $163.79 each.

Hey guys, thanks for all the input.  I kinda figured the Runner stuff wouldn't work.  But hey, you never know.  My next question would be rotors.  I've heard the rotors from these cars are, how you say, junk.  Is this true?  If so, what would be their replacement?

I'm also looking to put D/B's on my Coronet.

Mark,,Guess what!.. this past year i threw out a 1971 New Yorker with a fairly new front brake job on it.
I wish i had known the brake set up on the New yorker was setup to use on me Dodge,
today i could have been stopping on a dime..

No, the RR stuff won't work. You need a C-body setup like from a 68-73 full sized car. The '73 is the best, but I used a '71 NY'er setup on my 66 Fury III.

Hey everybody.

I want to do a disc brake swap on my 65 Polara this year.  My buddy is parting out a 73 Runner cuz it's a rusty piece of crap, as he puts it.  Will these brakes go on my Polara?   I've done interweb searches and checked out the Mopar Muscle tech archives and can't say I've been happy.  Everybody seems to contradict everybody else.  I've even come across articles that contradict themselves.

So now I turn to you good people for advice.  Will the 73 Runner brakes go on mine?   If not, I need a list of parts to get for the project.  Keep in mind I've never done this before.  Although my buddy's a mechanic, I don't think he's done this either.  Any help is greatly appreciated.
