Re: 8 3/4" rear end housing info

Thanks Doug for the info, that's what I was worried about. I figured I would loose 1 3/16" on each side of clearance going from 58 1/2" to 60 1/8" drum to drum width. I don't want the cost of new wheels, tires, to negate the the cost of the rear if I get it for the right price.

I have a '68 GTX rear housing in my '63 Sport Fury.  Perch measurement
is the same.  Direct bolt in.  You may have to change u-joints or
yokes. You will loose some wheel clearance on a '63, as those rears
are narrower than a 64.  I did all the measurements before hand,,
perch, brake backing plates,, all the same.  Forgot about the bigger
brakes and as such,, the wider drums, longer axels,  or whatever, so
now I've got odd ball wheels on the back because of loosing some
clearance on wheels that were already very close.  Works fine though.
I think the 65-66 B body rears are the narrowest available.  Pretty
sure everything before 71 has the same perch location for B bodys.
