Get laquer thinner, been there done this! It works BUT that stuff is nasty and open doors to get fresh air, use gloves and try not to get it on hands and it will eat through rubber gloves. I'd get wash cloth sized rag and get it wet but not dripping and hold it on trin to soften paint, then get 0000 steel wool and go over it with dry steel wool. You may want to get household aluminum foil and slide it between car body and trim just as precaution to protect paint. Ruth Thu, Jan 26, 2012 at 12:55 PM, Jacob Fox <imfast101@xxxxxxxxx> wrote:
If y'all remember, I had put on some turquoise striping inside my chrome trim. It's starting to peel...and I'm tired of trying to super glue the ends back. So I was wondering if any of y'all knew of something I could use to remove the black paint that's faded and missing in some places in the trim. Looks like the side trim is aluminum and the back is actual chrome. I don't wanna scratch it or cause the chrome to rust!
