Re: 1964 330

Gosh, I had no idea how few there were. I was one of the 47 in that case back in '64. I ordered mine early in the Spring from Widger-Goodwin Dodge, 16900 S. Lakewood Blvd, Bellflower, CA.. It was a 330 post w/383 -- 4bl-- 4spd ---SG. The rest was pretty much bare bones. Med Blue with light blue int., AM radio, heater, variable speed wiper - washer, retractable seat belts, tinted ws, black wall tires 7x14 rayon, stone shields, positive crankcase vent system, back-up lights and left outside mirror. I sure had fun with it. I have no idea where it is now! You can see a picture of me running it at Lion's in Sept of 1964 in my photos section. It was CAL FMY334  and the vin was 6145168731  I made my first car payment on it 5-26-64 for $81.75. It cost me $3,085.25. Wouldn't I like to see prices/payments like that today!

If anyone finds it still around somewhere, let me know. I have the window sticker etc still in my car files.

I don't know Jeff or his car, but if his numbers are correct, a guy in
rural NW Oklahoma had one of those 1 of 47 cars a few years ago.

The car was taken down to the bare unibody and rebuilt from the ground up. Everything from the body and paint, weatherstripping, mechanicals, interior and more has been meticulously redone. But even with all this careful work my favorite thing to do is take it out and drive it like it was meant to be driven – pedal to the metal!

The 383 engine is at home in the garage and in its place it a 440 big block with 10.5:1 compression, a slightly bigger cam, aftermarket intake, headers, shifter, and gauges. Also the exhaust was changed to a 2.5” x-pipe system with stock style tailpipes. Sitting out back are a set of old-school "Pie Crust" slick tires mounted on 15x7 steel wheels.
