Engine Paint Again - It's Poly Time

I'm sending my Poly Stroker project block to get hot-tanked this Sat.
I tried to go back through emails for info on this subject but wasn't
having much luck with my search function.

Should I prime the block? Should I prep the block with anything
special before I prime or paint?

Enamel vs Lacquer vs Epoxy vs ... ?

Does anyone know the paint code for 65 Dodge poly Engine red?
