Just woke up from a snooze and read the responses and have some added questions. What do you mean by cooler plugs? And as far as ping goes, there is none that I recall. Car's been parked for a couple months now for winter. And somebody, I think Mike & Deb, mentioned gear ratio. Well it's a 3:23 gear. Do I need to put a higher stall converter in the tranny? It's the stock converter. And someone also mentioned compression ratio. As far as I know it's whatever the factory ratio was on a 1970 440. 9.5 to 1 if I remember correctly? I know this is a lot of stuff I'm asking but would really appreciate some advise. If you have no audible spark knock you probably have sufficient octane, yet we know gasoline isn't what it used to be.
