RE: car won't start



How old are the cables themselves. You can test them to see if they are capable of working. They must have a certain ohm rating but Im not sure what that number is

Doug, I would remove both cables (especially the positive one), clean them again, and make sure that something (unseen corrosion, metal shard, etc) has not gotten inside the cable and the post.  The spark indicates the issue is between the post and cable.

 

PS:  Been there, done that many times with my MOPARS.  Clean-looking doesn't always mean clean.

Tried to go for a drive yesterday but my '64 Sport Fury wouldn't start.

 

Battery is fully charged, connections are clean.  

 

When I turn the key all I get is a spark on the positive battery post, 

and a click but nothing else.

 

Any advice?
