It's a shame.  Same thing happened on Long Island in 2004 when Long
Island Motorsports Park (aka Westhampton drag strip) was shut down to
build condos.  Just like KCIR, new housing went up near by and new
residents complained about the noise.  Now if you're on Long Island,
you have to trailer your car across a bunch of crowded bridges to
Englishtown, Atco or Island Valley in New Jersey.  A whole lot more
time and trouble.  Unfortunately, fighting big development seems to be
a losing proposition.
