I tried this method again. I never could get it to work for me in the past, and I couldn't get it to work this time as well. It worked in Park, but not in Neutral on my 65. Now the 1965 trans is a different animal (even though it is really a push button trans), since it really has no rooster comb, but I never could make this method work on my 1963 either. So I resorted to my test light method, and I had neutral in Park as well as in Neutral. My test light never lies. Service bulletins sometimes do, I think.
