Centerlinks that have articulated joints in them
can go bad (on some cars, the joint is in the centerlink and the tapered hole is
in the idler or pirman arm). If your centerlink is just something that
everything else bolts into, then the only way it could be bad is from mechanical
fracture or deformity.
Yes, torsion bars must be pulled to do anything
with the LCA, but you don't have to take them all the way out of the car - you
just have to slide them out of the control arm. Naturally, getting the tension
off and taking them out of the LCA is the worst part of complete removal
anyway.
