Those are not the casting numbers, but the engine numbers.  The
casting numbers are on the side of the and raised above the surface of
the block.

To decode what you have -

PM - Mound Road engine plant
318 - 318-cid V8
R - Regular fuel
2726 - Date of assembly - January 13, 1968
2463 - Production number - 2,463rd engine built on January 13, 1968

If you check the block there might be a group of eight numbers/letters
on the right (passenger) side of the engine above the oil pan to the
rear of the engine mount.  These are also stamped into the block.
