FWIW, a Challenger and Cuda restoration guide claimed leaf springs were usually painted semi-gloss black although
some were an unpainted finish. Paint the springs stainless steel paint to duplicate the unpainted look. I don't know if 1964 manufacturing plants used this same technique though.

You may want to check with ESPO about the anti-squeak  material.
