Akron Don,
-- I will always root for the Max Wedge stock Eliminator cars, but I have observed that running those engines competitively in that class is hard on parts, better to be or afford a good engine builder. The cost is way out of my league, may be fewer who can (actually running any engine in that class is hard on parts, but some cost much more than others). However, the single carb Hemi cars look promising but have not seen many. Also the new cars look like they hard to compete with. I remember a few years ago I was wondering if the Max Wedge cars would be the first to finally break Stock Eliminator 10.00 second barrier. Unfortunately, the new cars are running under 10.00 seconds routinely now, check out the qualifying ladder for AA/SA and A/SA run by new Challengers and Mustangs, if they are not running under 10.00 seconds they are slow. It may be time to start paying closer attention to the NSS class cars, that is where the cars are that we like to watch racing. But I will keep watching for those Max Wedge cars in NHRA Stock Eliminator! Wonder why so few? Where's all the Max Wedge cars - just running nostaglia events? Maybe the cost of a NHRA legal Max Wedge car has gotten too expensive and they have become museum pieces.
