It has been removed from most current oil on the market. The main thing it does for us is provide protection for the cam and lifters. Our old engines use standard cams and lifters with metal riding on metal. Modern engines most if not all use roller cams and no longer need this in the oil. Maybe some here will know if it still has zinc but I have been using Rotella T diesel oil in everything except my new vehicles. I even use it in my motorcycle. It did and hope still does contain good additives for our cars. ZDDP and other zinc additives are available from many sites from $6 to $10 dollars per bottle that is good for one oil change. Some companies are now making oil specifically for older cars but I don't know anything about them. Just do a Google for ZDDP or look at this site: http://www.zddplus.com/ Dennis On Aug 29, 11:02 am, Jacob Fox <imfast...@xxxxxxxxx> wrote: > Ima order that and try some. What does that actually do?
