I agree with the others that a lean condition can cause this. And any ethanol blends especially when hot will get lean. I jetted my dual quads down a bit 'cause I was sure they were too rich. I use the best gas I can get at 92 octane. (Recently reduced to 91) My carbs about blew off the car when I tried to stomp on it. I do not run it that lean anymore!!!!  Octane booster didn't really seem to help either.
