Re: Welcome New Member - 1964 Dodge 440

Keep in mind that by trying to turn the driveshaft (when not in park)  it will give you about 3 times the pressure you can apply as compared to trying to turn  the wheel itself ,,,,,be sure and check to see that the E brake is not on as well,,,,,,

Well, right now I'm trying to get the car to roll. I jacked up the
passenger rear saturday, removed the tire and tried hammering the
drum. It did not free up so I was thinking of spraying some
penetrating oil and I also ordered a drum removal tool. Saturday I
will jack up the front and see if hammering will have any effect on
the front drum. If any members have any advice I gladly appreciate.

A friend told me about it and although I know little about mechanics or cars from this era I'm excited at the possibilities. It is gold with a white roof, 318 and looks to be 99% complete. The wheels are frozen so that will be my first job so I can get it in my garage. I have been looking at this web site since I got the car and have found useful information and tips. I look forward to getting this car on the road and learning at the same time.JohnBecksteinColchester, CT- Hide quoted text -
