Re: Welcome to new member - 1964 Chrysler 300

I haven't talked to Gary Goers yet, but I wonder if there is a generic
part that I can get from one of the other vendors for the extruded
parts, which are probably 90% of the sealing parts. The molded parts
of the weatherstrip are actually still in really good shape, and
$2-3/ft, versus $300-400 for the stuff I need appeals to my shallow
wallet. I wonder if I could just cut a piece out of my
weatherstripping and try to match an extrusion from Restoration
Specialties, or something...

The windshield gasket still looks good, and I don't see any shrinking
or cracking, but I never even considered the wiper motor seals! I need
to look there... Oh, and the body is more or less rust-free, being a
California car. Of course, that doesn't mean there isn't a hole in the
cowl. :)

Great link on the seal belts! I had no idea it would be that simple.

My plug wires don't get within a half-inch of my exhaust manifold, but
the boots are already brittle and cooked. I tried the fiberglass
"socks" to put around the boots, but they don't seem to want to make
the turn at the end. I think I may have to go with some very expensive
wires to solve this problem, unfortunately.

Thanks for all the help! There has been such an influx of information,
my head feels like it's gonna explode.
