Attached are two pictures of my 64 Polara and progress as of June in
Hudson, FL body shop. So far this guy impresses me with his attention to detail.
The front end is stripped and it was interesting that the body guy who is a
Mopar guy points out an imperfection in the front of the hood that was filled
with lead from the factory (according to him). I had no idea that is how Dodge
fixed the cars before final paint. The body is basically rust free with no
repairs ever except the final touch ups from the factory, which is nice to
know.
He also recommended that I replace the front windshield because the
laminate between the glass layers was yellowed from too many years in the
California desert. The new (A/C tinted) glass is like the original tint when
new.
The rear glass was saved and will be reinstalled since it does not have a
laminate per the glass guy.
I suppose this is old hat to many of you experts, but I am having fun
learning from those much smarter than me as I go along.
