I not sure I like that idea. Requires more width to display the subject and I tend to have multiple panels displayed so it would hamper that action. I'm on two mail mailing list plus lots of soccer league mails. Don't see any need to separate it the way you suggested. I do use the "filter" to put e-mails into sub-inboxes such as 1962-1965, soccer, MML, etc. Don't use the filter when I log in at at work or my laptop.
