I went.I wish I could say I had Pics, but shortly after I got there, I dropped my phone and couldnt get camera to work.
I went on Saturday morning. Got up, looked at the sky. Saw familiar clouds that normally burn off. Got there about 10. Watched a storm build for about 1 1/2 hours, then went for shelter. As the storm worked its way across the valley, got bigger and bigger. By the time it got to the track, there was a little snow flying with the rain. Dripped enough to get everything cold and wet.
As a result of the weather, the # of cars in the show was about 1/2 of what were there last year and they were only 1/4 of what was there in 2005.
The swap meet section never really got everything setup after the rain, so that was a wash. Didnt find much of what I was looking for (Like green speedo gear for 65/older).
Now, at lunch, we went and watched the open class. Saw a '62 Valiant /6 car do 10.56 in the quarter. And a half dozen of /6's in the 12's. There were quite a few 63-64 plymouths and dodges that ran in this class.
Other items of note, saw a supercharged 2011 charger pull high 8's, beating a new model challenger by more than 6 seconds. Was impressive, but I still think they should be called Coronets, and could never own a 4-door 'Charger'
By that time the sun was out, so we went back to the show portion and 1/3 of the cars had cleared out and another storm was starting to brew.
I'll ask my nephew if he can send me the pic's he took. It was cold enough, hands were better off in pockets than taking pic's.
