66 was the last year for the 426 wedge. Mr Norm supposidly ordered 50 Coronets with this engine. The 440 replaced the 426 and was phased in and early cars got the 426 later cars the 440. They are rare, wouldnt doubt few have seen any 66 426 wedges Galens book shows a 66 426 wedge. This is the way I understand it to be anyway. --- On Mon, 4/4/11, Roger Pettigrew <dodger7998@xxxxxxx> wrote: > From: Roger Pettigrew <dodger7998@xxxxxxx> > Subject: Re: 1964 Dodge Polara Radio > To: 1962to1965mopars@xxxxxxxxxx > Date: Monday, April 4, 2011, 4:11 PM > > > I find this hard to beleive, in 66 I had a 65 fury lll, > with a 426 street > wedge, and 4 speed, my friend at that time tried to order a > new 66 sport > fury with the same engine and tranny combo as mine, > and was told it would not > be available for the 66 model year and that he would > have the choices of > 440, hemi,,, or any of the smaller engines,,and I > have as of yet to see any > Cbody/imperials with a street wedge in them,,,, > > > In a message dated 4/4/2011 10:47:07 A.M.
