Ok guess I am full of apologies,,,, it has been a long time since I had  
watched the movie, you are just going to have to imagine the friction plates  
between the two spider gears causing them to be semi locked to each other by 
 spring pressure causing them to turn at the same time,,,,,,,, the clunking 
you  hear in the differential of car with a posi is the friction plates or 
cones  slipping when going around a corner causing the need for different 
wheel  speeds
