RE: What metal to use?

Dang it I hit the send too soon! Anyway my question is in regards to 
what would be a suitable metal to use for the hood scoop I am going to 
build. Now remember this doesn't have to be show quality just race 
quality. I saw a sheet of 20ga weldable steel at True Value for $14 that 
would be big enough. It was about 3'x3' or maybe a tad bigger. 
Fiberglass would be easy to form but I've never worked with it and hate 
the mess and stink. I'd probably get in the doghouse for contaminating 
the house. Is 20 ga a reasonable size?
