Mopar Fanatics:I am sending this out after I got off the phone with a Marine Pilot that needs to sell a 72 Plymouth Duster with a 360.
Here is the skinny on this.About 8 months ago there was an add for a 360ci Duster for sale. I called and the Marine pilot said he was going to be deployed and would be gone for several years and could not afford to store it. Man the picture looked good. We talked but I could not buy it and keep peace in the house. One dodge was enough. I tried to figure out a way to store it for him but that was tough to sell also what with the liability and so forth.
Well 8 months went by and it reappeared in the paper for 13,500. Today I finally called to see if it was the same guy. It was and we talked. He just got back from Iraq or Afghanistan and will be deploying to England in January.
Here is the car info; Originally a slant six valiant. He put in;360 V8, up graded the drive line including a complete new rear end housing with 4:10 gears from a friend in town who is a Mopar Maniac. He owns several high end cars including several Super Bees.
Our talk ended up with him bringing the car by this Saturday, 18th, between 3 and 6 p.m., Okatie SC. I hope his friend comes by as well.
The guy said ,even though I could not buy it , I would enjoy hearing it. He has never raced it but built it as a driver.
Here is how the ad reads: "360, 727, 8 3/4, 4:10 rear." Lime Green with flat Black T/A Hood Scoop. If I could sell my 65 for his price I might consider it if I knew who's hand it would end up in.
Ollie my grandsons, my pit crew, turns three and has a birthday party Saturday which is over at one so maybe I should bring him home to see this car after the party.
Any way here is an opportunity to own a car and help a Marine at the same time. I will take pictures and post them Saturday night if i can.
The BAM project proceeds with trying to make the Legends end of year discount prices.
If anyone might be interested send me an interest 0f notification at my e mail and Saturday i will get his email.
