That goes unsaid. Our stiff gear cruising is confined to stop and go but being brought up in the city, that is all we knew. The stoplight to stoplight grand prix was sure fun.

i have a 456 gear ratio 8 3/4 in my 65 barracuda, 340 approx 500 horses. it is an awesome light to light or quarter mile car. but long drives, not. jeff--- On Sat, 10/16/10, Joey <jake4@xxxxxxxxxx> wrote:From: Joey <jake4@xxxxxxxxxx> Subject: Re: 8 3/4 Diff. To: 1962to1965mopars@xxxxxxxxxx Date: Saturday, October 16, 2010, 3:42 PM either 3:91 or 4:11 would work depending on how far you drive to the track and what your threshold for economic pain is for gas bills. I had 4:10's in my small block 4-speed Duster a couple of years ago and a 60 mile round trip cost about $60 but...that car did fly, I sure miss it. You might try contacting Dan Dvorak in Florida, I thought I had seen recently where someone was advertising 3:73's for the 8 3/4 rear. Good Luck!, either way, it will be fun . Then I got to thinking that for all that money maybe I ought to have it set up for racing, I would drive to the track, like a 3:90 or 4:11. Then when going to long trips switch back to the original 3;23. > > Any thoughts on my plans?
