I know it will work in a 440. I would be willing to bet it would be fine in a 413 as well. Ma Mopar's factory balancing was terrible to begin with so the difference in weight from a 413 piston to the larger 440 piston probably isn't that much. I would do it without hesitation if it were my motor- in fact I will soon. I have a 413 crank and a '73 440. Make sure to use a balancer from a forged crank. Rather than deal with a external balance flywheel and drilling the crank for a pilot bearing ( 4 speed) I would like to install the 413 crank in the 440 without taking the heads off.. I have been told that it will need re-balanced cause the difference in piston and rod weight between the two. . Sounds credible , but is that true? .............................MO {Steve Mick} http://stevemick.shutterfly.com/pictures#Part%202 ---- Please address private mail -- mail of interest to only one person -- directly to that person.
