Re: ’62 Cop Car?

1966 was the first year for the 440 in the big cars but you had to special order it to get it in a plymouth as is the case of my 1966 fury 3 i know that the woman who bought my car new did in deed spec order the car and have had all kinds of folks tell me that the engine in my car is not correct that you could not get a 440 in a 66 fury till i show them the vin and build sheet then they quiet down i am the 2nd owner of the car and it has its all orig drivetrane with the J engine code very rare I recently had a man from canada tell me that if you ordered the high performance engine in the first 8 weeks of the 1966 model year it came with the 426 motor then on the 9th week they started installing the 440 that is the first time in 10 years of owning my fury that i have heard that all though the owners manual does show a 426 but no 440 for the year?
