I think I found the problem. I tried a mallory dual point distributor and it wouldn't even start, so I started thinking and remembered a cam swap. When I first put the motor together I installed a Mopar Purple Cam with big lift and duration. Made wicked power but was not street friendly so I installed a milder cam from Crower. I think that I must have the cam timing off so tomorrow I will start taking the radiator out and taking it down to the timing chain and gears. I will probably find that the timing marks are off by a tooth or two.. If that doesn't work I'll start with a bfh and beat it back into running mode....
