I've heard that a mixture of acetone and ATF will outperform all of the commercially available solvents. I know that the ATF has amazing viscosity. I was brazing a fitting for a temp gauge into my transmission pan. To check it for leaks I filled the pan with water and let it sit for an hour or so, bone dry. Put it back on the car and filled the transmission and it immediately started dripping. But I also know that all of the other products mentioned also work well. Any chance this is motor is something fun and exotic like a 392 hemi or??? Paul L.
