Re: New Project

I believe it's 68 and later for the change in hub size and spline count.

Hmmm,,,,,,,,guess I am not following this, it was my understanding that
aftermarket convertors were the same from like 66 to early 80s, and it has
been a standard to replace the input shaft on our early cable shift trannys to
accept the latter TCs ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Please enlighten me,,,,,,

The crank center register for the torque converter is a different
size(larger) on the 340 than the 318. Someone used to make an adapter/spacer to
make up the difference.
If you only have the 340 block, use the 318 crank and rods. The crank is
forged and the rods are bushed for floating pins.

Ollie, actually that is not a bad idea. I have a 68 340 block but it is 60
over so don't know if it is still usable. Let me do some thinking on this.
Question will the 65 318 poly trans bolt to a 68 340 block?
Thanks

rapidly approaching the 440 show in our Mopars, i.e. the 350 ch***y

The rocker chrome on the Bel was a much smaller piece than the
Satellite.
The Satellite is as wide as the rocker itself.

Thanks Ollie for the info, my Bel II has side and rocker chrome with
bench
seats. The 318 is seized but am intending to put a 440 in it anyway.

13,139 w/interior chrome and bucket seats
9,663 bench seats and no interior chrome

As John said Satellites had no side chrome, but wheel well and
rocker panel chrome, plus the rear side "shark gills" They were an
up graded Belvedere, I and II being post and no post cars. Ollie

Satellites generally had console/buckets, but that may not
ALWAYS
have
been the case.

All, I am not an authority on the 65 cars by any stretch and

the two models are except maybe the Satellite was the upper

model
for
the model year?? Anyone, can you enlighten me. Thanks
