I see a different rheostats online that come on at 170, 180, or variable
temps. Opinions on what works best or what is best for street applications.

I don't remember the manufacturer, but when I bought my fan at Autozone 
I got the thermostat at the same time for around $15. I'm sure you can 
call them and find out.
