When I got my new sending unit, I pulled the sock off and threw it away. Straight tube in the tank and inline filters. 5 years ago and still running.
Ollie's $.02 on that chaep looking sock. Ollie----- Original Message ----- From: "Rich Kinsley" <rlkinsley@xxxxxxxxx>

I had one comment that the cloth sock fabbed on my fuel ppick-up probably wouldn't be an issue. However I tried to pour water through it and it acted like a cup. Very little even went through it. I imagine the gas being lighter would probably respond better but ************** I think it should be much better with the new 3/8 pick-up. I'll hold off on the needle/seat changes and the accel pump swap until I try it with the fuel pick-up change only. Then I'll get a true feel for the difference.
