Hi Doug,The studs for the exhaust manifolds do go into the water jackets and if they were leaking would leak antifreeze not oil. Make sure the valve covers aren't warped and that there isn't any cracks around the bolt holes caused from the covers being tightened down too tight. I would also check the back of the intake and oil sender area for possible leaks. Although anything is possible, I have never had a big block Chrysler engine leak oil from the head gaskets.

I've been seeing clean oil under my car recently and it looked as if the valve cover gaskets were leaking, so I replaced them. Didn't solve the problem. It appears the oil is leaking out just below the valve covers. What's odd is that the back bolts through the exhaust manifold (closest to the firewall) are damp with oil and are smoking when the engine gets hot.Any idea what the problem is? Thanks for your help,Doug _________________________________________________________________ Hotmail: Trusted email with powerful SPAM protection. http://clk.atdmt.com/GBL/go/201469227/direct/01/ -- [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] ----Please address private mail -- mail of interest to only one person -- directly to that person.
