My father had a 392 in a '64 Polara. Used poly 318 motor brackets if I remember correctly. He did this back in the 60's when parts for both the car and the early hemi were more readily available. Hemi was blown up when he was trying to sell it in the 70's when someone 'test drove' it.

I know a 426 will, but I don't know about a 392. Can I use my small block Torqueflite with it? From what I've been able to determine, I may need an adaptor, but otherwise it should work. The transmission is freshly rebuilt, so that's why I would want to keep using it if possible.I don't remember ever seeing a 392 in a '60s era B body before, but then again, my memory isn't all it used to be cracked up to be.Thanks in advance for your input.
