Oil pans with the indent were for the big block c bodies. The indent was for the idler arm so it wouldn't rub on the pan.A body cars use the same pan when they swap in a big block.Oil pan numbers were 699,187,893 you also have some that not stamped with a number before 1966 ----- Original Message ----- From: Butch Edison<mailto:waedison@xxxxxxxxxxx> To: 1962to1965mopars@xxxxxxxxxx<mailto:1962to1965mopars@xxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, January 27, 2010 8:22 PM Subject: Oil pan Identification As part of an unassembled 1965 426 street wedge (Thanks Steve Miner for looking at this car and motor for me a year or so ago!), an oil pan came with it. I read what is on the 62-65 Mopar site regarding oil pan identification but still could not tell if it's correct for the motor or not, or what it fits. Here's a link to a photo of the (rusty) oil pan in question sitting next to the blue oil pan off of my 1964 383. The rusty pan is a little deeper than my 383 and as you can see, has an indent that I don't understand. Any help would be appreciated. http://i931.photobucket.com/albums/ad151/waedison/PICT0018.jpg<http://i931.photobucket.com/albums/ad151/waedison/PICT0018.jpg> /Butch / Ferndale, WA ---- Please address private mail -- mail of interest to only one person -- directly to that person.
