You might need to go to a preformance exhaust manifold gasket by felt-pro that is thicker than the stock gasket. It fixed my 440. Wouldn't be a bad idea to machine the manifold. As far as the bolts go....see what they look like when u have it all apart.

Happy New Year everyone!

Got a popping noise coming from my drivers side exhaust manifold. Wanted to check in with you all before I started messing with it. I imagine I need a new gasket but wondered if I needed new bolts and to machine the manifold surface? Anybody just do this? I was surprised since I only have about 6000 miles on this rebuild. I do however remember the same problem on my 66 fury way back when...Thanks for the insight,
