Yes, I can see how calibration would be an issue. I bet you could calibrate them by reading them both on the same carb and adjusting the gauge. The meter doesn't have to be dead on just read the same values on both carbs. I "calibrated" my speedo by checking the actual speed against the registered speed, via the dynop, and then I put some masking tape on the face with a few correct readings. I can interpolate from there.
