RE: Redneck Radios

Dennis,
Pretty cool find there. There are some others out there too.

Two things that I want to point out about speaker selection, that I
didn't care for from those speakers.
1. The sensitivity needs to be as high as possible for maximum
effeciency. The highest on those speakers was a 90dB. I have two cheapo
Pioneer 4.5 speakers with 93dB or 94dB rating. The higher the number,
the less power to run them.
2. The frequency response needs to be as low as possible to get a good
full range sound without adding to the system. The lowest on these
speakers was 40hz. My Pioneers are 25hz. The lower the number, the
better the bass response.

This is for those guys that don't want to mess with all kinds of high
wattage amps.
All I am running in my car right now, is my radio and the two speakers
in the dash. It sounds great as is. I can listen to it with the windows
down. It won't blast your ears out, or bother the neighbors, but it is
good for me.
If you check those two ratings on your speakers, you won't have to spend
$$$ for a good sounding stereo.
