Broken rocker adjuster

I just had a thought that you can move the rocker arm over away from the 
pushrod and screw the adjuster out the bottom with small channel locks 
or vise grips. I think that would work. You'd have to be sure the top 
was smooth so it wouldn't hang up on any burrs.
