Thanks folks for all the good suggestions--any more is welcome. Another 
ideah I was given:  Soak fiberglass cloth matt in Por-15 silver. I don't 
know what difference the silver would be, but it might look more purty :-) 
One thing I see is, with a POR-15 treatment, all the rust would not have to 
be wire brushed off-- just oil frre..............................MO

I'd suggest a few coats of POR-15, with JB Weld for the hole filler. I'm in 
the process of performing a hole filling job on a '56 Coronet floorpan - 
welding - and, even for a guy who earns his living as a welder, this job 
sucks! Best of luck with your project!
