Weight and gear are the keys. My '65 Dart has been consistently running 8.60@84mph with street tires. The car now weighs less than 3000# with me in it though. Just ordered a fiberglass hood, bumpers, and deck lid to lower it even more. The last set-up I used netted me my best run to date. A 10.016@xxxxx I was going to up the ante again BUT in retrospect I only gave that set-up 1 run. I think it's like sighting in a rifle. I need to get a "grouping" before I make further changes. I intend to hit the track tomorrow night again in my quest for the 9's. I think I'll give this set-up a couple runs at least before I change it again. I don't like to do jet changes at the track because it's too dark usually. Rods/springs are OK. I have everything marked and seperated so I don't have a problem trying to read the itty-bitty numbers on the parts. Wish me luck.
